As a UX career changer, I recently attended a designer exchange event organized by Ecru, and the experience was fantastic. The event was rich in content, and I gained many practical tips and advice that will greatly help my future career development. At the offline gathering, I met many like-minded friends, and we all shared our experiences and insights, which were incredibly beneficial. Special thanks to the Ecru Dot organizing team for creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere at every event. I am very much looking forward to the next event and highly recommend it to all designers.
Ecru has also given me a great opportunity to delve into the design community. At a picnic with designers, I heard various interpretations of design from different designers. Everyone was sharing their unique challenges and solutions, which was very inspiring and made me start thinking about how to handle my own projects in new ways. We exchanged stories, shared contact information, and listened to the experiences and anecdotes of job interviews shared by our seniors. It was wonderful to meet and enjoy a beautiful Sunday with people who are equally passionate about design. Thanks to Ecru for organizing!
After attending an Ecru event, I had the opportunity for the first time to be exposed to design needs across different industries. From finance to healthcare, from tech companies to retail brands, every designer taught me new design thinking and methods. Working here made me truly realize that each industry has its unique design challenges and opportunities. Such cross-industry experiences not only enhanced my skills but also broadened my horizons, making me start to view design challenges from different angles. I am very much looking forward to what new topics Écru Dot’s next event will bring.
